4Batz is denying that he has any issues with Drake after he tweeted at the Canadian superstar’s rival Kendrick Lamar over the weekend.
In a social media post last week, the newcomer jokingly asked K.Dot to let his debut mixtape U Made Me A St4r breathe a little as his onslaught of Drizzy disses hogged all the attention in the Hip Hop space.
“yo @kendricklamar I just dropped my tape my n-gga can I get 24hrs at least [crying laughing emojis],” he wrote in a since-deleted post.
It is also worth noting that the aforementioned tape features another enemy of the 6 God,Kanye West, and does not include the Toronto native’s remix to his breakout song, “act ii: date @ 8.”
The project was released through Gamma and not OVO Sound, despite reports from earlier this year that suggested otherwise — however, the Dallas native has been closely linked to the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker over the past few months.
After a Hip Hop journalist shared all the above observations and concluded that there must be an issue between Drake and 4Batz, the latter denied having a problem with the 37-year-old — however, he didn’t clarify if the inverse is also true.
“I ain’t got no problem wit dat n-gga,” he wrote in a quote tweet on Sunday (May 6). “I got the number 1 mixtape in the WORLD and it’s not even a album.”
In March, Billboard reported that 4Batz had signed to OVO Sound for his debut EP following Drake’s remix of one of his songs. The publication wrote that the deal was a short-term license and had been confirmed by two execs.
The singer’s lawyer declined to comment on the news but mentioned that he “made a calculated decision to creatively collaborate with one of the most iconic artists ever.”
The attorney added: “The positive energy and overall support from Team Drake/OVO was a driving factor in getting this song released.
“We are grateful for their involvement and are excited to see what the future holds as a result of this epic creative and business move.”
With the report specifically noting the project would be an EP and 4Batz calling his new project a mixtape, his next effort might very well be released via the independent Canadian imprint.
