Live Odyssey, London’s newest music attraction, will open its doors for the first time on 22 May. Designed to take fans on a journey through British music history, this immersive and interactive experience pays tribute to the sounds that helped define the nation. Located in the heart of Camden, it combines state-of-the-art technology with live performances to honour some of the UK’s most iconic music and artists. It is part show, part museum, part exhibition, and part immersive live performance, offering something to excite music lovers of all ages.
Visitors will embark on a two-and-a-half-hour adventure through seven decades of British music, spanning from the anthems of the 60s and 70s, through the Britpop era of the 90s, to the latest chart-topping hits. The journey begins by entering via The Clash steps before exploring six themed rooms, each dedicated to a different musical era. Guests are surrounded by the sights, sounds, and cultural touchpoints of each decade, with adjoining bars in most rooms so the celebration can continue throughout the experience.
One of Live Odyssey’s most unique features is its exclusive collaboration with John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird. This heartfelt and artistically crafted installation tells the story of Lennon’s life and musical path. It takes visitors from his formative years to his rise to global fame with The Beatles, offering a deeply personal perspective. Julia shares the unconventional childhood they experienced, memories of their mother, renewed family connections, and her insight into the many sides of Lennon.
The attraction also boasts a cutting-edge Hologram Room, where British music legends are brought to life in holographic form. To celebrate the launch, there is a special holographic performance by The Libertines, one of the UK’s most influential bands of the 21st century. Known for their raw energy and distinctive style, the band is captured partly in their famous red military jackets, blending their classic charisma with futuristic visual technology.
Live Odyssey has also partnered with Pop Nouveau, home to one of the largest private collections of music-related art in the world. Together, they have curated an exhibition that showcases iconic album covers, single artwork, and rare, previously unseen designs that have shaped music culture. Among the highlights is the Lennon Wired Exhibition, created by artist James Wilkinson, which features works incorporating segments of microphone leads once owned by Lennon and Yoko Ono, acquired from their Tittenhurst Park estate. These pieces honour Lennon’s artistry and unique style.
The exhibition also features The Tapes We Left Behind, an extraordinary collection made from master tapes belonging to some of the most celebrated musicians in history, including Queen, David Bowie, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Morrissey, and Duran Duran.
