Olivia Dean has released her much-anticipated second studio album, The Art of Loving.
The record is led by the soulful ballad So Easy (To Fall In Love) and features empowering themes of self-worth. It also explores intimacy and connection on tracks such as Let Alone The One The Love, Loud, and Close Up.
As the follow-up to 2023’s acclaimed Messy, the album also includes fan favourites Nice To Each Other and Man I Need.
Speaking about what inspired the album, Olivia explained: “I don’t think this is a cynical thing to say but I don’t think love is just magic that happens to you, I think you’ve got to put the time in, it’s a craft, it’s like playing an instrument or any other skill… I’m a romantic, hopelessly, hopelessly. And I suppose I’m trying to just bring a little bit of love, and loving, back into your life.”
Olivia also revealed that The Art of Loving drew inspiration from the character Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex And The City.
She told The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre column: “I’d never seen Sex And The City before, and started watching it from the beginning. I have been living my Carrie moment – her influence will be there.”
The singer added that the record touches on the challenges of relationships.
She said: “Something In Between is about when you are between being with somebody and not, and you are like, ‘I don’t want to just have you in my life, like now we are not supposed to talk?’”
At 26, the neo-soul pop artist is continuing to build remarkable momentum. Earlier this year, she became the first British female artist since Adele to achieve three UK Top 10 singles. Man I Need also became the highest-charting UK track on Spotify’s Global Charts in 2025.
Alongside her studio success, Olivia has confirmed her biggest UK and European headline tour to date, beginning in April 2026. The run will include four sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena. She also joined Sam Fender on his UK tour this summer, where the pair performed their collaboration Rein Me In at London Stadium.
