Bad Bunny has reached a major milestone as his track DtMF secures a 57th week at Number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.
The achievement sets a new all time record for the longest run at the top in the chart’s nearly 40 year history, moving past the previous benchmark set by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee with Despacito, which featured Justin Bieber.
Despacito reshaped the global reach of Latin music, with its Bieber assisted remix holding the top spot for 56 weeks between 2017 and 2018.
Sitting in third place on the all time list is Enrique Iglesias’ 2014 hit Bailando, featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, which spent 41 weeks at Number 1.
DtMF, short for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, meaning I Should Have Taken More Photos, was released by the Puerto Rican star on January 23, 2025. The track has topped charts in more than 30 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United States, while also reaching the Top 5 in markets such as the United Kingdom and Australia.
In the US, the all Spanish language release became only the second song performed entirely in Spanish to hit Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, following La Bamba by Los Lobos in 1987.
