Alanis Morissette has launched legal action against her previous tour manager over allegations of fraud and extortion.
The Ironic artist states in the filing that Keren Urinov threatened to accuse her falsely of trafficking drugs unless she handed over a "ransom under the gun".
Morissette says music executive Urinov targeted her with a carefully planned "calculated blackmail campaign".
According to the complaint obtained by Billboard, Urinov allegedly offered to abandon the unfounded accusations if she received a 15 year agreement to serve as tour director.
"Morissette will not agree to work with an incompetent blackmailer for the next 15 years or pay her a ransom under the gun," reads the lawsuit. "She has no choice but to sue."
Before joining Morissette's team, Urinov spent nine years overseeing Live Nation's operations in Israel. The musician employed her in 2025 to supervise that summer's concert schedule.
The dispute reportedly began in July 2025 after Urinov was questioned at an airport in the UK while carrying luggage that allegedly held marijuana and xylazine.
The filing states that Urinov delivered a "series of increasingly extortionate letters" to Morissette once the tour concluded. She allegedly warned that she would tell British officials the substances belonged to the singer unless she was given a 15 year contract as a full time tour director with "massive compensation".
"Morissette is not interested in employing Urinov for 15 years, not only because she is a blackmailer, but also because she was a terrible manager of the 2025 tour," reads the lawsuit.
