Welsh singer Jamie Miller is in the running for Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart as his breakthrough track "Babydoll" continues to gain ground.
Since entering the Top 40 in September, the song has climbed steadily towards the highest positions. The latest Official Chart First Look places "Babydoll" at Number 3, behind Taylor Swift’s "Patient Zero" at Number 1 and Sienna Spiro’s "Great Expectation" at Number 2. With early sales and streaming figures still coming in, Miller could challenge both artists before Friday’s final results.
Other big names are also heading for strong results this week. Noah Kahan’s "Draw You Out," from the forthcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack, is currently at Number 7 and looks set for a Top 10 debut.
Drake could secure several fresh Top 40 entries after releasing the expanded HABIBTI (FOMO) edition. "Solar Eclipse" featuring Don Toliver is at Number 16, followed by "Cold Shoulder" featuring Don Toliver and Yebba at Number 27, with "Quebec" just behind at Number 28.
Dance acts are making their mark too. German DJ Kolter is approaching his first Top 40 entry with "Hey Everybody (Back In The Dance)" at Number 21. Cloonee, Prospa and Tristan Henry are also moving upwards, with "Good Girl" reaching Number 23 in the early standings.
Irish band Fontaines D.C. could earn their third Top 40 single with "Tongue," currently placed at Number 32. The track is the second release from their upcoming album Dopamine Chamber.
Friday’s official countdown will confirm the results, including whether Jamie Miller’s latest climb takes him all the way to Number 1.
