Loud Magazine: What inspired you to become a musician, and what drives your creativity?
Jimii N°1: My love of music inspired me to be musician. Life in general is what drives my creativity.
Loud Magazine: Can you tell us about your songwriting process? Do you have a specific approach or ritual?
Jimii N°1: My songwriting process varies, but usually it comes with an idea and then I expand on that. I don’t necessarily have a ritual, but I do find it easier to create at night.
Loud Magazine: How do you balance your artistic vision with the demands of the music industry? meeting the needs of their fans and the industry.
Jimii N°1: Luckily, I’m not that involved in the music industry, being somewhat of a free agent, but I find it helps to take one day at a time.
Loud Magazine: What do you hope listeners take away from your music?
Jimii N°1: A good feeling. Some toe-tapping inspiration. A heightened awareness………
Loud Magazine: How has your music evolved over time, and what influences have shaped your sound?
Jimii N°1: My music has evolved into a sound and a style of my own. Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige are two influences that have inspired me.
Loud Magazine: What's been your most memorable performance or experience in your career so far?
Jimii N°1: One performance that I consider memorable was when I was on tour with Tan & Sassy. After leaving the stage, all these kids came running up to me and wanted my autograph because they said “I reminded them of Michael Jackson,”which I considered a true honor!
Loud Magazine: How do you stay inspired and motivated to continue creating new music?
Jimii N°1: My inspiration comes from the many challenges that life has to offer. There are a few subjects I have yet to tackle and I’m looking forward to leaving my mark on life’s journey.
Loud Magazine: Can you tell us about your favorite song or album that you've released, and why it's special to you?
Jimii N°1: My favorite song on the album?There are many, for different reasons, but the one that means the most to me probably is “Use Your Faith.” It’s the song that I wrote first and it’s probably one of the most important things you can do in your existence here on this plane.
Loud Magazine: How do you approach collaborating with other artists or producers on a track? What's your favorite collaboration experience?
Jimii N°1: At this point, I haven’t done a lot of collaborating. I’m always open to suggestions and find when two or more are gathered together great things happen!
Loud Magazine: What are your goals for your music career in the next year, and how do you plan to achieve them?
Jimii N°1: My goal is to have more people than I ever could have imagined, hearing my music! Blessing many…….. one way or another!!
