On repeat! Ed Sheeran is racing ahead in this week’s Albums Chart with his eighth studio album Play (1). If he holds the lead, the record could give him his ninth Number 1, following his last chart-topper +–=÷× (Tour Collection).
Hot on his heels are American duo Twenty One Pilots with their new release Breach (2). The band is hoping this will finally earn them a Number 1 after both 2018’s Trench and 2024’s Clancy peaked at Number 2.
Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall is also making a strong showing with her debut solo album That’s Showbiz Baby! (3). As part of Little Mix, Jade already enjoyed seven Top 10 albums and now aims to claim the top spot on her own.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor is pushing for a place in the Top 5 with her latest record Perimenopop (5). If successful, it will mark her third album to hit these heights, after Read My Lips (2) in 2001 and Wanderlust (4) in 2014.
English rock icons Led Zeppelin are chasing their 14th Top 5 with Live EP (6). The four-track release features two performances from their 1975 Earl’s Court show and two more from their 1979 Knebworth concert.
Welsh rockers Feeder are aiming for a return to the Top 10 with a 2025 remastered edition of their acclaimed album Comfort in Sound, currently tracking at Number 10. The record originally peaked at Number 6 back in 2002.
David Bowie’s final four albums have also been reissued as part of a major collection titled I Can’t Give Everything Away (12). The set includes live versions and remixes spanning from 2002 to 2016, and is predicted to land in the Top 20.
Addison Rae could make one of the week’s biggest leaps, with her debut album Addison expected to jump 160 spots to Number 18. First released in June, the LP narrowly missed out on Number 1, settling for second place.
Singer-songwriter Mimi Webb is looking to secure her third Top 40 album in four years with Confessions (22).
Baxter Dury is chasing his first ever Top 40 album with Allbarone (26). Produced by Paul Epworth, who has worked with Paul McCartney, the project showcases Dury’s evolving sound and diverse influences.
Deathcore act Lorna Shore are also eyeing their first charting record with I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me (36).
Closing out the midweek Top 40, Queen’s Greatest Hits is climbing once again, moving 12 places to Number 37. The classic collection originally reached Number 1 in 1981, where it held the top spot for four straight weeks.
