Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were once considered one of the most powerful couples in pop culture. A decade ago, their relationship was the talk of the world, and it seemed like nothing could bring them down. Together, they raised four children and built a life that felt unshakable. But in 2021, everything started to fall apart.
By that time, Kanye had experienced multiple manic episodes, and his behavior had grown increasingly alarming. In 2022, his disturbing comments involving Nazi rhetoric made it clear he was in a dark place. Kim Kardashian lived through that reality behind closed doors.
This week, the reality star and entrepreneur joined Call Her Daddy, where she opened up about her marriage and why ending it was the right choice. “I didn’t know what to expect when I wake up… That’s an unsettling feeling,” she admitted during the interview.
Kardashian spoke candidly about the difficult moments she faced during their relationship. She shared that there were times Kanye would speak negatively about Kris and her sisters in front of their children. She also recalled an incident where Kanye, during an episode, sold all the family’s cars to his friends without warning.
Moments like these pushed Kardashian to accept that her marriage was no longer a safe space. Still, she made it clear she doesn’t speak badly about him to their kids and continues to highlight his good qualities to them. Their relationship appears to be relatively civil for the sake of their family.
Kardashian also mentioned that she hasn’t heard from Kanye in about two months. At times, he cuts off contact entirely, and even fans aren’t sure of his whereabouts. For now, it’s believed he’s living somewhere with Bianca Censori.
Only time will tell whether Kim and Kanye reconnect in a more meaningful way down the road.
