Maren Morris has revealed that she recently received what appeared to be a fake wedding invitation for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The country star explained that she got a suspicious text message claiming she had been invited to the couple’s upcoming wedding, but she instantly believed it was a scam.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Morning Mash Up podcast, Maren admitted she immediately ignored the message because it did not seem legitimate.
"I wish (I had information to share)," she said while discussing the highly anticipated wedding. "I got this, like, spam text a couple weeks ago. It was like, 'You're invited to Taylor and Travis' wedding.'"
"I was like, 'I'm blocking this,' 'cause there's no way they would send an invitation through a text like this," the 36 year old continued. "What if I trashed (the actual one)? I was like, 'How do they have my number? This is weird.'"
Taylor Swift and Maren Morris have maintained a close friendship for years, with Maren previously praising the pop superstar for always being supportive of her career.
The two artists have also worked together musically, collaborating on You All Over Me (From The Vault) from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in 2021. Maren later joined Taylor onstage during The Eras Tour in 2023, while she also performed her hit song The Middle during Taylor’s Reputation tour back in 2018.
Taylor and NFL star Travis Kelce reportedly got engaged in August 2025 after dating for around two years. So far, the couple have not publicly shared any official wedding details.
However, during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in October 2025, Taylor spoke briefly about the wedding and said she planned to focus on organising it after finishing the promotional cycle for her album The Life of a Showgirl.
"I think the wedding is what happens after that in the scheme of the planning, but I'm so excited about it," she said at the time. "I know it's gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble."
