Fabolous hosted a special Father’s Day luncheon on Thursday (June 18) for fathers who have been affected by the criminal justice system.
The Brooklyn rapper partnered with REFORM Alliance to stage the event at Sei Less in New York City, where Fab spent time interacting with fathers from a range of different backgrounds throughout the afternoon.
Before the luncheon, Fabolous had also attended the New York Knicks championship parade, celebrating the team’s first title in 53 years from a hip-hop float alongside other NYC rap figures, in an event hosted by Fat Joe.
Guests at the event enjoyed a menu of Sei Less signature Asian fusion dishes, including chicken satay, vegetable spring rolls, crispy chicken wontons, filet mignon, Beijing chicken and chicken fried rice.
“Fatherhood means everything to me, so being part of something like this with Sei Less and REFORM was an easy yes,” Fab said in a statement. “These fathers been through real challenges, but they never stopped showing up for their kids. I wanted to come through, show some love, and help give them and their families a moment to celebrate.”
Sei Less co-founder Dara Mirjahangiry has increasingly used the restaurant as a space for community focused events that intersect with New York hip-hop culture.
In previous years, the venue has also hosted similar gatherings, including a Father’s Day luncheon led by Fat Joe and Jadakiss, as well as a Thanksgiving dinner event co-hosted by Cash Cobain and Bay Swag for young people supported by Children of Promise, NYC.
“At Sei Less, our goal has always been to create moments that go beyond dining and bring people together in a meaningful way,” Mirjahangiry said. “Partnering with Fabolous this year and continuing our partnership with REFORM Alliance for this Father’s Day celebration allowed us to honor fathers who continue to show up for their families despite real-life challenges and give them an afternoon where they felt seen, celebrated, and supported.”
