One of the biggest hip hop talking points last week centered on the tension between Adin Ross and Doechii. For the most part, the situation has played out in a one sided way. Ross has taken Doechii’s lyrics personally and has continued firing off insults, while many artists within hip hop have openly criticized the streamer.
One of those artists is Glasses Malone, who has repeatedly warned Ross that things could escalate if the disrespect continues. Ross has largely brushed off those warnings and has kept poking at Glasses, along with Joe Budden.
Ross does have supporters in his corner, including Wack 100, who has consistently spoken about Adin Ross in a positive light. Over the weekend, Wack appeared on No Jumper, where he shared his thoughts on the ongoing situation.
While Adam22 suggested that Ross may have crossed a line, Wack argued that Ross had every right to be upset. The stance caught some people off guard, especially given Wack’s current view of Glasses Malone.
Wack 100 Had a Message for Glasses Malone
At the heart of Wack’s comments was an accusation that Glasses Malone is trying to gain attention by attaching himself to Ross’s name. It is not the kind of claim many would expect from Wack, particularly considering Glasses’ reputation as a respected West Coast artist. Wack has often been vocal against what he considers culture vultures.
Even so, Wack continues to stand firmly behind Adin Ross, who has been facing heavy criticism from hip hop purists. Given the circumstances, the debates surrounding Ross over the past week have been especially intense.
Ross has remained largely disconnected from hip hop culture and its artists, and his attitude toward the criticism does not appear to be shifting anytime soon. Still, having support from someone like Drake gives him a level of insulation that cannot be ignored.
Only time will tell whether Adin Ross and Glasses Malone are able to resolve their differences and move forward peacefully.
