Charli XCX is diving headfirst into obsession on her newly released track I Keep on Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night, and fans are already fully locked in with her.
The song arrives alongside a striking black and white visual that follows Charli moving through hallways, staircases, and eventually into a dance studio where she delivers a series of sultry poses and choreography routines. Throughout the video, she keeps direct eye contact with the camera, matching the song’s themes of intense attraction and nonstop fixation.
Lyrically, the track leans into vulnerable and playful self questioning as Charli explores blurred lines between friendship, desire, and identity. “Maybe we can become each other?” she sings at the beginning of the song before later wondering whether she might simply be “a really late bloomer.” Elsewhere, she questions both her own sexuality and the intentions of the person she is singing about, creating a mix of humor, confusion, and emotional tension. The chorus keeps things simple and addictive: “I keep thinking ’bout you every single day / I keep thinking ’bout you every single night.”
In an Instagram caption posted Saturday, Charli explained that the song serves as the B side to Rock Music, which was released earlier in the week. She also revealed that the video was filmed while she spent six weeks in Kyoto working on a movie project. “i went to Kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. while we were there, i made this video with aidan,” she wrote, adding that the song is currently only available through vinyl releases and the B sides collection.
Outside of music, Charli continues expanding her acting career with a growing list of film projects. She recently appeared in Erupjca directed by Pete Oh, as well as the mockumentary The Moment. She is also attached to several upcoming films including 100 Nights of Hero directed by Julia Jackman, I Want Your Sex, The Gallerist, and an untitled project from acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike.
The latest releases follow February’s arrival of Wuthering Heights, a companion project created for Emerald Fennell’s upcoming film adaptation. Charli also contributed music to Mother Mary and recently reissued Party 4 U from How I’m Feeling Now as a special seven inch vinyl release for Record Store Day.
