6ix9ine is facing backlash online once again after making controversial comments during his girlfriend’s gender reveal celebration.
The 30 year old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez and who was previously known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, made the remarks while appearing on a livestream alongside several internet personalities. During the event, 6ix9ine joked that the pregnancy would be terminated if the baby turned out to be a girl.
In footage shared by TMZ, 6ix9ine tells streamers Adin Ross, N3ON, and Clavicular, “If it’s not a boy, it’s an a-bor-tion.”
The group appeared visibly uncomfortable after the comment, awkwardly laughing before 6ix9ine walked them over to his girlfriend, Aliday Alter. When asked what gender she believed the baby would be, Alter laughed and said she thought it was a girl. 6ix9ine then repeated his earlier comments, claiming she agreed with him.
“She’s down,” the rapper said. “She’s open-minded.”
Later during the party, it was revealed that the couple is expecting a baby boy.
Alter first announced her pregnancy back in April, sharing beach photos on Instagram showing off her baby bump while wearing a cheetah print dress. According to TMZ, she and 6ix9ine have reportedly been together for around a year.
“My world is about to change,” Alter wrote alongside the post.
6ix9ine is already reportedly the father of two daughters, including a 12 year old child with ex girlfriend Sara Molina and another 7 year old daughter with Marlayna M.
The controversy arrives only months after the rapper turned himself in to begin serving a three month jail sentence related to violations tied to his supervised release in his racketeering case. Authorities said Hernandez was found in possession of cocaine and MDMA and also admitted to assaulting a man who allegedly mocked him over cooperating with law enforcement during a visit to a Florida shopping mall.
